Goal

Elaine Richardson Public Park was envisioned as a vital gathering space for a community lacking public parks. Designed to honor a local trailblazer, the park needed to balance historical tribute with modern recreation, creating an inclusive, vibrant space for all.

Process

Collaboration was at the heart of this project. Our team worked closely with multiple City of San Jose departments, ensuring the park met the needs of Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and the surrounding residential community. Through careful coordination and a rigorous approval process, we shaped a design that reflects both legacy and livability.

Results

The completed park is a dynamic, welcoming space where the community can connect, play, and celebrate. Featuring a stage, play areas, open lawns, and sports courts, it now serves as a lasting tribute to Elaine Richardson and a cornerstone for neighborhood enrichment.
