Goal

BLOCS served as both master developer and landscape architect for this multi-community housing development located in the San Francisco Bay Area. One of the most impactful outcomes was the design and integration of a new Bay Trail extension through the site.

Process

Working hand-in-hand with land planners and engineers, we carved out a dedicated trail corridor that now links residents directly to the greater Bay Trail network. We layered in native planting, resting spots, and wayfinding to make the trail feel like a true community amenity.

Results

The Bay Trail extension has become a signature feature of the neighborhood—supporting recreation, walking, and biking while adding long-term value for residents. It’s a great example of how landscape architects can lead with vision and deliver benefits at both the local and regional scale.
